This is my favourite world building fic thus far - The Arcanist: Unspeakable Mysteries. A brief summary/take on the story - In the story thus far, the worlds used are from D&D, the 9 Realms from Norse Mythology and HP (An AU version of it, though.) Were never actually shown the troubles of keeping muggles from the wizarding world or the details of keeping the wizarding world from muggles because we're in the pov of Harry. Not the ministry. So you don't know it's peachy 90% of the time because that's not where the focus of the story is.
