Dec 9, 2019 · In the Harry Potter books only pullover black robes are worn as school uniforms. Due to the open front redesign in the Harry Potter movies, a full school uniform was designed to go underneath the robes. This includes a tie in house color, a white shirt, navy skirt or slacks, and a gray sweater or sweater vest, also with house colors on the edges.

Such a second-school uniform doesn't seem that unique to me. The blazer is rather basic with the only real object of note being the white lining which would be too distinct for a real uniform, the emblem on the breast pocket is rather generic... I'd have to say that it's not a real school uniform.

It is because of different customs. Back when Hogwarts was founded a thousand years ago most people in real life even though they were men did not wear pants outside of riding horses. Nobody wore ties which are form 19th century. The modern school outfit in general is not very old.
