Since I got my 2007 iMac towards the end of that year, it had been pretty much on 24/7, save for a times like being on the other side of Australia or out of the country for 3-4 weeks at a time. Same settings, computer sleep = never, display sleep I usually have set to 1 minute.
Aug 6, 2006 · The average temp when waking display after a few minutes or even over night, would always be @ 130 - 132 F, average CPU temps while working would be @ 138 - 142 F. My iMac also became slightly louder, just enough to notice but not enough to become alarmed. Presently, I am now in the 3rd week of allowing my machine to go into sleep mode.
