Not sure exactly when this started occurring, and it happens fairly randomly, but pictures come through as .png or .heic texts/files. Clicking on them does nothing, and usually after some time or a reset the photos show up. Anyone else experience this and/or have a resolution?
Jan 3, 2021 · For performance reasons, your devices will display the PNGs as JPGs. This will show a colored background because the JPGs do not support Alpha Channels. If you open the PNG in Photos, then pinch to zoom in, the PNG will be displayed with the Alpha Channels and transparency.

If the image is too small (resolution or file size), it loses transparency. It’s an Apple “feature”. I resized the image on desktop and saved to camera roll without any issues. Stupid, but it works 💘
