I started to have this issue after upgrading my iCloud to a larger storage and inexplicably disabled iCloud Photos "Sync this iPhone". What fixed it for me was to reenable this. Go to Settings > iCloud > Photos > enable "Sync this iPhone" I posted this message here too. Edit: this appear to be a good approach too
Jul 27, 2017 · Not only that, but my iPhone keeps incessantly asking for me to turn it back on, what a horrible system. But yeah, it is a big issue for me as well. The only way I can get the transparencies back is to send myself an email with the image, then iCloud finally shares the uncompressed version.
Even now, I’m trying to make some Discord emotes, and I literally can’t do it because as soon as I resize the image to being a small square, it gets a white bg. Sometimes I even SEE it happen. Like I’ll see the pic in Photos as being transparent, but the moment I tap it it instantly gets a non-removable white bg. SO fucking frustrating.

Aug 7, 2020 · When I delete an iMessage, does it delete everywhere? If you sync Messages over iCloud, anything you receive, delete, or send from one device syncs to all the others. So yes, with iCloud sync on, when you delete an iMessage from your iPhone it also deletes from your Mac and iPad. With iCloud sync turned off for Messages, this is not the case.
