Slowly but surely the fruit of the Spirit, which is another way of saying divine nature, starts to replace the sin in my flesh. This is clearly written in Galatians 5:16-26. As I continue to faithfully follow Jesus on the way of overcoming sin, my actual nature becomes divine instead of human.
The divine nature of Jesus is alluded to in verse 1 ("our God and Savior Jesus Christ") and probably again at the beginning of verse 3 quoted above (" His divine power"), and it seems to follow that it is this nature that Peter goes on to refer to in verse 4 highlighted above. But what does Peter mean by "partakers"?
