With more than 370 religious bodies, over 350,000 congregations, and over 160 million adherents, the 2020 U.S. Religion Census is the most extensive count of congregations ever conducted. Several special studies provide data for groups without central data offices, such as the Amish, Buddhist and Hindu groups, as well as Orthodox and non-denominational Christian churches.
