Now the newer versions of Opera browser come with a new feature called “Shared Start Page” which improves loading time of Start Page and makes the Start Page loading instantly on screen.
Mar 30, 2019 · There's no homepage in Opera. You can set a page or more to open when you start Opera but that's all, you will always see start page when you open a new tab. Don't know if there are any extensions that could change it.

To add an entry: 1. Click the empty entry marked with a +. 2. Select from the list of suggested pages, or type a web address (for example opera.com/). 3. Press Enter. To open an entry, click on the entry’s thumbnail.
To name or edit the web address of an entry: 1. Right-click (Ctrl+click on Mac) the entry’s thumbnail. 2. Select Edit. 3. Change the name and/or address using the text fields. 4. Click OK. Nov 21, 2019 · Opera Software has been working on an improvement that speeds up the loading of the page in the web browser. Recent versions of Opera, including the latest Stable versions, support it already. The feature, called Shared Start Page, is not enabled by default in the browser at the time of writing.
If you register an account with Opera, you can use the tabs page to open pages you browsed on other devices. Install Opera on your work and home computer, your phone and tablet, and use synced tabs to keep your place when you switch devices.

It is simple to set up Opera to launch a page on startup. You enter the web page URL and it works fine. But I use the native 'Start Page' as my 'home' for Opera. This 'Start Page' comes up when I launch the app. When I add a URL to launch at start up, it launches that URL with no Start Page tab.
