Oct 10, 2022 · As far as I know, the current standard is as follows: Ignite 150u Internet customers get the Gen 1 (XB6) Ignite WiFi Gateway. Ignite 500u and Gigabit Internet customers get the Gen 2 (XB7) WiFi Gateway.

So both the black modem (The XB6) and the White modem (The XB7) can support the 1Gbps package. The main difference between the two on the wired side is that the XB6 has two ethernet ports that are both 1Gbps and the XB7 has four ports (Three 1Gbps and 1 that is 2.5Gbps).

Feb 24, 2021 · Last I looked, the Wifi 5(802.11ac) is the fastest protocol. The Xb6 is supposed to have this. This doesn't mean that with a device that has the same protocol that even during a speedtest that it'll be a flat-out guaranteed speed performance either.
