Sai genuinely cares for Naruto and in my opinion he’s been a better friend than Sakura or Sasuke can ever be. Sai the one who observed Naruto and realized how everyone rely on him too much and Sai was the one who gave up his loyalty to Danzo to help Naruto.
- His Wife. Despite the fact that he actually thinks that she’s ugly the first time he meets her, Sai ends up marrying Ino, and they have a son together named Inojin, which is revealed in the final chapter of the manga.
- His Hobbies. It’s hard to think about any of the characters in Naruto really having hobbies. All of the characters spend so much time doing missions and training that it’s difficult to imagine that there’s any free time for them to do anything for fun or relaxation.

He has been trained to not think too much about other people or to consider how bonds between people form and why they’re important since having bonds makes it more difficult to get a deadly job done, especially when loved ones can die in the process.

It was also great to see that Sai wasn’t an exact copy of Sasuke, but quite the opposite. Sai went from an emotionless Shinobi to someone who would go out of his way to please the people he cares about.
Sai a top tier character love him. Sai is an example of how to make a flat character pop. He starts off as the typical stoic, mysterious, troubled past side character; a mere replacement for Sasuke. That said, Sai was fleshed out to make him not just a great support, but a pillar of reason later on.
