This survey conducted by Statistics Canada provides a statistical portrait of Canada and its people. The census is a reliable source designed to provide information about people and housing units in Canada by their demographic, social and economic characteristics.
The 2021 Census of Population was Canada's 23rd national census. It collected information on the demographic, social and economic situation of people across Canada, as well as on the dwellings they lived in.
These products provide statistical information about the population, households, dwellings, families, immigration and ethnocultural diversity, Aboriginal peoples, education and labour, mobility and migration, language of work, income and housing as measured in the census program.
On April 27, 2022, Statistics Canada released the second set of results from the 2021 Census. This release explored Canada's shifting demographic profile, and for the first time ever, included data about the gender diversity of our population.
