Sep 29, 2023 · Trak-Ball compatibility is an absolute must, so we have to make sure the 2600+ is 100% compatible with both the Atari CX22 and CX80 trak-balls as well as the Wico Command Control trackball as well, and it needs to be tested with the AtariAge-released hacks of all trak-ball-based games, including Missile Command, Centipede, and Millipede, and maybe even Crystal Castles.
Probably some of this will be fixed with software updates. Currently no way to play two-button 7800 games, but they've announced that a new 2-button 7800 controller is coming, so that will apparently be fixed. The 2600+ does actually work with the Harmony Cart if you just load one game on the card and don't use the menu.

Aug 24, 2023 · That's because, while it is 80% smaller than the original, the forthcoming Atari 2600+ is no locked device running pre-installed, emulated games. It plays the exact same cartridges I coveted as a kid.
