Dec 29, 2015 · As it is December 29, I can't help but find myself thinking about Eastern Air Lines Flight 401 and the fact that it was 43 years ago today. EAL401 was the first loss of a wide body aircraft and it also happened to be the accident that led to major changes in the industry, such as GPWS, Crew Resource Management and aircraft cabin safety.
