Dec 27, 2023 · In January 1923, Harry W. Kent and Edgar K. Worthington combined their names to create Kenworth. They established the company’s headquarters in Seattle, Washington, and the first truck rolled off the manufacturing line two months later. In Kenworth’s first year, the Seattle truck manufacturer produced 78 gasoline-powered trucks.
