- Producing Your Own Sticky Fly Paper Get out a grocery store paper bag. The bag should generally should be tall, as you will need to make long strips of sticky fly paper.

- Fill the bottle base with water and add dish soap. Pour water into the funnel to fill the bottom of the trap with water. Leave a couple of inches of space between the bottom of the funnel and the water line.
