May 28, 2024 · There is a more candid, spontaneous feel to things: the end of ‘Denim’ leaves in a clip of Barrow telling the band he has to take the dogs out. ‘Secrets’ opens with another snippet of chatter over a drum machine: the erratic tweaks to its cut-off and echo suggesting this is not a rehearsed part, but one of many exploratory first takes on this album that made the cut.
