Geoffrey Paul Barrow (born 9 December 1971) [1] is an English music producer, composer, and DJ. He is a member of the bands Portishead, Beak, and Quakers, and he has scored several films. Portishead was formed in 1991. He named the band after the small coastal town near Bristol where Barrow grew up. [2]

He worked with greats such as Primal Scream, Paul Weller and Depeche Mode and even helped to write ‘Somedays’ off Neneh Cherry’s 1992 album Homebrew in what is the clearest indication of the work ethic instilled in Barrow from his youth.
