Aug 1, 2009 · In this adventure Noodles wanders his way into school. He is frightened by the bell, he hides behind some boots and then he plays with the children. The illustrations are wonderful watercolor prints with great details that inspire a real feel for the story. Hans Wilhelm has written a wonderful story, that children will enjoy reading many times.

Jan 1, 2003 · This is a level 1 book with easy words and short sentences. My 4-year-old loves reading the "Noodles" series. They always seem to be about Noodles struggling with something and then finding a way to overcome it. The one thing I didn't like in this book is that he tells himself "I can't do anything. I'm useless." Thankfully, he didn't quit.
