Henry Stafford. Henry Stafford, the 2nd Duke of Buckingham was Richard’s right-hand man. There are theories that he took it upon himself to murder the boys to gain King Richard’s favour. He later fell out with Richard and was executed for treason.

Career: Henry Stafford, 2nd Duke of Buckingham, was born 4 September in Abergaveny, Monmouthshire, and grandson to the 1 st Duke. Henry became a member of the King’s Household after his wardship was purchased by Edward IV in 1464 with half of the Bohun Estates appropriated into the Crown Property.
Buckingham was beheaded in Salisbury on the following day of 2nd of November 1483. His widow, Catherine Woodville was later married to Henry Tudor's uncle, Jasper Tudor. Buckingham's eldest son, Edward Stafford (1478-1521), eventually succeeded him as Duke, his attainder was removed in 1485. He was executed for treason by Henry VIII in 1521.
