Hiro (ヒロ, Hiro) is the main protagonist of DARLING in the FRANXX. He was a Parasite with the codename "016" and was once known as a prodigy among the Children. However, he failed to synchronize with his partner Naomi and was considered nothing but a failure as a pilot.

It wasn't confirmed, but someone in another thread pointed out, that while Ichigo tells Hiro that Naomi is fine, a white butterfly can be seen on screen, which apparently stands for the soul of a deceased person.
Hiro, meanwhile, is left depressed after failing his test to become a Franxx pilot and synchronize with his partner, Naomi. He encounters Zero Two by chance, who briefly flirts with him when he shows no fear of her horns.
