Jul 10, 2024 · If you have a bunk-bed, you can create a vaulted ceiling! Tuck a sheet under the mattress on the top bunk, then pull it down toward the fort walls. Use clothespins or binder clips to secure the sheet to the edges of the cushions. Use flat sheets for the roof if you can find them. Fitted sheets don’t work as well because of their elastic corners.

The former top bunk is the new play area, like an open-air tree fort, sans tree. Add a climbing rope and reuse the old bunk ladder as a means to climb up.
It's almost impossible to change the sheets, it's super hard to actually tuck a kid into the top bunk, and you can never sit on the edge of the bed and tell stories or sing songs.
