In recent seasons, the Have-Have-Not competitions were introduced and it basically boils down to the Head of Household (HOH) picking about 4 houseguests to eat slop and disgusting food, take cold showers, and use an uncomfortable bed of the shows choosing.
After Week 9 in the Big Brother house, it was revealed that the six remaining houseguests would be offered $20,000 at the live eviction show. If one of the houseguests took the offer, then they would have to walk from the game.
In Big Brother 1 (U.S.) the eviction process was different from that of the following American seasons and followed the international format of Eviction. Instead, a "banishment" happened every two weeks, with all of the houseguests voting on who the nominees would be.
