Apr 20, 2017 · To tune the tail, over several flights with different batteries: First I just did climbouts to set the Adaptive filtering with P and I gains left at 100. Kept increasing until the tail was no longer wagging during a full collective climb out. Then did backwards FF and backwards loops to see if P needs to be adjusted.
If the engines are still running though, when collective is pulled to cushion the landing, the computers tell the the engines to add more power to keep rotor speed at 100%. This application of torque with no anti-torque from the tail rotor will restart the spin. Helicopters, especially the H-60, are pretty damn tough IF they crash straight down ...
