      • There are lots of animals in Minecraft that can be farmed for food. Some of these mobs will also drop valuable materials which can be used for crafting or building. Though there’s no way to truly “tame” these mobs—they will not fight enemies or interact with you—all of them are passive mobs.

  1. Bees can see and feel the electrical current of a flower, to know if it needs to be pollinated or not. Bees provide more pollination than any other insect, which includes ants, beetles, butterflies and moths. The color or markings on a flower helps attract and guide animals to them for pollination.

Most animals that can be bred have a food item used to lead and breed it (there are a few special cases, described below). Once an animal notices a player holding its food, it follows the player until either the player is out of range, the player stops holding the item, it begins the breeding process, or it is attacked. Baby animals behave the same...

Baby mobs are smaller variations of their adult counterparts, having small bodies, relatively big heads (with some exceptions), and faster walking speeds. Their sounds are the same as their adult variants but 50% faster and are pitched up by 6 semitones. The only exception to this is tadpoles, which are a wholly unique mob from from frogs. Many bab...

    Allay duplication

If an allay is given an amethyst shard while it is dancing due to a nearby jukebox playing any music disc, it splits into two allays (itself and a new allay) and the amethyst shard is consumed. After duplication, both allays have a five minute cooldown before being able to duplicate again. Allays do not have a baby form.

    Shulker duplication

There is a chance for a new shulkerof the same color to spawn when a shulker is hit with a shulker bullet (including one of its own). The following conditions must be met: 1. When the shulker gets hit and then has less than half its health remaining, there is a 25% chance for it to teleport without spawning a new shulker instead of checking the conditions below. 2. The hit shulker must have its lid open. 3. The hit shulker needs to find somewhere to teleport. For this, it takes a random block...

Any two adult animals of the same species can breed with each other, even if one animal is the parent of the other.

  2. Baby animals can be manually spawned by using spawn eggs on a grown animal. This also works on zombies or variants. Baby animals may also be spawned using the /summon command with a negative Age tag; for example, using /summon sheep ~ ~ ~ {Age:-100} spawns a baby sheep at the player's position, that matures in 100 ticks (5 seconds).

    • Axolotl. Home: Lush Caves. Breeding Food: Bucket of tropical fish. Both Axolotls and Tropical Fish can be found in Lush Caves, making it easy to breed them right from the start.
    • Bee. Home: Plains, Meadows, Non-Snowy Forests, Cherry Groves. Breeding Food: Flowers. Bees can be fed any type of flower to speed up their growth. While they take the same amount of time to grow into adults as other animals, that growing time excludes any time spent inside their beehive.
    • Camel. Home: Desert Villages. Breeding Food: Cactus. Baby Camels cannot be ridden, but otherwise act like mini replicas of their parents. Feed them cactus to speed up their growth.
    • Cat. Home: Villages, Swamp Huts. Breeding Food: Raw Cod or Raw Salmon. In order to breed Cats, they must first be tamed. The resulting Kitten will have the coloration of one of their parents and will belong to the owner of that Cat.

    • Sheep, goats, cows, and mooshrooms. All of these are passive animals that players come across very often. They are excellent sources of food and a few other items.
    • Horses, llamas, mules, and donkeys. In a recent update, horses, llamas, mules, and donkeys have been made so that they will follow players holding golden apples and golden carrots.
    • Chickens. They are an excellent food source, and their automatic farms are very easy to create as well. To lure a chicken, players need to hold wheat in their hands while standing in its vicinity.
    • Pandas. Breeding a panda has a few additional conditions. However, luring them is very simple. As they eat bamboo, players need to hold the bamboo in their hands to lure them.
