Jun 3, 2024 · Locate the oxygen sensors in your vehicle, usually found in the exhaust system, before and after the catalytic converter. Disconnect the sensor’s electrical connector. Use your socket wrench to loosen and remove the sensor. Exercise caution to avoid damaging the sensor or surrounding parts.
Most vehicles have an oxygen sensor forward of the catalytic converter and another one behind the converter. Here, we’ll use a section of exhaust that holds an oxygen sensor to show you how easy it is to install a new unit using the right tools.
