Here’s how the resale process works: You will need to find a buyer or list your Membership with a licensed real estate broker. Once a buyer has been identified, you will need to submit a fully executed contract for sale to Disney Vacation Club at wdw.dvc.dvd.resales@disney.com for review at least 30 days prior to the scheduled closing date.
Disney Vacation Club purchased through resale allows families to vacation at 17 different DVC resorts as well as thousands of resort options around the world through Interval International. Rather than a traditional timeshare setup where you purchase an amount of time or date range, Disney Vacation Club runs on a points system which allows Members to exchange points for stays at different resorts.
When purchasing from DVC Shop there is no minimum point requirement when buying on the resale market. You can buy as few as 25 points to become a Disney Vacation Club member, which is currently the smallest contract offered by Disney. Some buyers may want to take advantage of Disney’s exclusive Membership Extras.
To receive any Membership Extras, purchasers must present a valid digital Disney Vacation Club Membership Card along with a corresponding valid photo ID. Effective June 3, 2021, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 150 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, LLC.
The only difference is that with the points you buy on the resale market is that they cannot be used for Disney Cruises, Disney Hotels that are not DVC villas, and Adventures by Disney. Fair to note that Disney Vacation Club denotes these options as “incidental benefits” of Membership and reserves the right to discontinue them at any time regardless of how the membership is purchased.
