   • It is better for the Surahs to be in order, for example you recite Surah Al-Falaq in the first rak'ah after Fatiha and then in the second rak'ah you recite Surah An-Nas after Fatiha. But it is not obligatory. Shiekh 'Assim Al-Hakeem said: The third question is reciting the Surahs in sequence in salat. This is recommended but it's not mandatory.

   Is it permissible to omit a surah?

   • In that case it will be permissible to omit one surah. e.g. One recited Surah Watteen in the first rakaat and recites Surah Qadr in the second rakaat leaving out Surah Alaq in between. This law pertains to fardh Salaah. As far as nafl Salaah is concerned, then it is permissible for one to omit one Surah in between two Surahs.
