- Get a media adapter. A media adapter allows your TV to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Most media adapters have both HDMI and the classic audio/video ports, so it could connect to new and old TV units.
- Make sure that your computer has a feature called Intel Wireless Display. Currently, this is the only technology that allows computers to connect to TVs through Wi-Fi.
- Connect the media adapter to your TV. Plug in the cables to their respected ports, power on the device, and follow the device manual to connect it to a Wi-Fi network.
- Launch Intel Wireless Display on your computer. Some laptops have a dedicated switch along the sides that instantly turn the feature on. For some models, you might need to launch the program itself on the computer to turn it on.
On your computer, open Chrome. Open the file you want to cast in a Chrome tab. Drag and drop the file into a Chrome tab, or use a keyboard shortcut: Windows:Ctrl + O. Mac:command + O. At the top right, select More Cast, save, and shareCast…. Select the device you want to cast to.

Nov 10, 2019 · To mirror your computer screen to Chromecast, click the cast icon or choose Cast from the Settings menu (three dots) Cast Menu. From the Source dropdown, choose Cast desktop. Next, choose the Chromeast device that you want to connect to. Your Chromecast connected TV will now start mirroring your computer’s screen.
