Aug 21, 2021 · The Farmington Police Department is accepting applications for the 2021 Citizens Police Academy that will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays Sept. 14 to Oct. 26. Applicants need to live, attend school or work in Farmington, be 16 years or older and pass a background check.
In addition to the lab services, the staff also provides training for the law enforcement academy, the Citizens Police Academy and conducts in-service training for officers assigned the duties of crime scene investigation.
The Farmington Public Safety Cadet program is now the Public Safety Cadets Unit #34! PROGRAM OVERVIEW . The Public Safety Cadets Unit #34 provides participants with insight into the world of policing. Meetings are held bi-monthly. The Farmington Police Department District Coordinator (DCU) is a community oriented policing and problem solving specialty unit. The DCU falls under the direction of the support services division lieutenant and sergeant. The unit currently consists of one corporal and five officers who are assigned to specific areas within the city.
Registration forms and course information are available at the front desk of any Waterloo Regional Police Service location or apply online: Citizens Police Academy Application. Course size is limited to 40 participants and we encourage people to register early. Admission is not guaranteed and is assigned by a lottery system.
