Certified Music Therapist (MTA) credential is the entry-to-practice credential in Canada. A music therapist attaining the MTA credential has been approved through a rigorous peer-reviewed process with CAMT.
Earning the Music Therapy Board Certification (MT-BC) credential demonstrates advanced clinical competence. It also signifies that you are part of a community of music therapists working together to make meaningful contributions to the evolution of the practice.
CAMT utilizes the title of Certified Music Therapist (MTA), to designate music therapists who have successfully completed the certification process. MTA is a registered Certification Mark with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, an agency of Industry Canada.
A certified music therapist (MTA) has completed: A Bachelor’s Degree, Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Master’s Degree in music therapy; A supervised clinical internship of at least 1,000 hours; An exam administered by the Certification Board of Music Therapists
