- The benefit statement is mailed to you shortly after you apply for benefits. The statement includes your access code (4-digit number), which is printed in the shaded area at the top of the benefit statement. Your access code is needed to submit your required bi-weekly reports.

Employment Insurance services in My Service Canada Account

To access Employment Insurance (EI) services in My Service Canada Account (MSCA), you must register or sign in to MSCA.
Once registered or signed in, select the "Employment Insurance" button on the MSCA welcome page.
You can not apply for EI benefits in MSCA. To apply online, visit Employment Insurance benefits and leave.
Register or Sign in to MSCA
Once you have applied for EI benefits, you can view information about your claims in MSCA.
View your claim status and message
Select "View my claim status and message" to view:
•your EI claim status
•details about your claim
•messages you have received
Submit documents
You can use our secure upload tool to electronically submit supporting documents for your EI claim. Select "Upload documents" to launch the tool.
View my documents
Select "View my documents" to view a list of documents that you've already submitted and the date they were submitted. If you wish, you can print a confirmation page showing this information.
Use eForms to send information for your claim
Select "Submit eForms" to launch the eForms service.
Update your mailing address and telephone number Currently unavailable
Select "Mailing address and telephone number" to update this information.
You must let us know of any changes to your mailing address or telephone number to prevent delays in receiving your benefits.
To receive your EI tax slip (T4E) by mail, make sure your mailing address is updated before January 1. Paper T4Es are mailed by the end of February using your mailing address in MSCA.
You can inform us of a change of address up to 180 days in advance. To provide your future address and the effective date, select "Change" and then "My future mailing address and telephone number information".
If your home address is different from your mailing address, call 1-800-206-7218 during business hours or visit a Service Canada Centre to update it. Your home address can't be updated online.
Tax slips (T4E)
Your EI tax slip (T4E) for the current tax year is available in MSCA the first week of February. Select "Tax slips (T4E)" to view it. The online T4E is an official document—print it and attach it to your income tax return.
You can also access your T4Es for any claims you had during the last 6 years.
Mailing options
If you received EI benefits during the current tax year and don't wish to receive a paper T4E by mail, select "Tax slip mailing options". You can choose the online delivery option. You must do this by January 1 to avoid receiving your slip by mail.
Paper tax slips are mailed by the end of February. Ensure that your mailing address is correct in MSCA
View your agreement status, enter into, or end an agreement
Select "Agreement status (self-employed)" to register for EI self-employed program agreement.
If you are already registered, you can check the status or terminate your program agreement.
