You can save an area from Google Maps to your phone or tablet and use it when you're offline.Tip: You’re unable to download offline maps in some countries or regions because of contractual limitations, language support, address formats, or other reasons.
1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app .
2. Make sure you're connected to the internet and not in Incognito mode.
3. Search for a place, like San Francisco.
4. At the bottom, tap the name or address of the place tap More Download offline map.

If you do start navigating to a location while you have a signal, Maps can seamlessly help you get there even if your signal drops out on the way. However, if you try to start navigating again when you don't have a data signal, Maps won't help.
