Nov 12, 2024 · That happened with the initial iOS 18 beta when users complained to Apple about a feature in Photos where you could swipe to the left or right of your photo library to see other collections of photos.
iCloud Mail is okay. Idk about mail being lost or undelivered as it's hard to know. What I do like is the built in features in the Mail app, like Remind Me and tracker blocking/Remote Loading (idk if this is specific to the the app or the account) What totally and utterly sucks is the Hide My Email relay service. It's just so bad.
Feb 26, 2024 · If you’re experiencing problems with the Mail app in iOS 17, try changing your default email app. You can then set it back to Apple Mail afterward. Here’s how to change your default email app on your iPhone: Go to Settings > Mail. Select the Default Mail App tab. Choose an alternative to the Mail app.

It's easy and quick to check iCloud's system status
1.Open Apple's System Status page.
2.Locate iCloud Mail in the list.
3.If the circle next to it is green, then Apple is reporting that iCloud Mail is running normally from their end and should be fully available for you. If the link is blue, select it for more information about a recent problem that caused iCloud email to stop working.
If your problem is not listed, report it to Apple:
1.Open the iCloud Feedback form.
2.Enter your name and email in the first two text boxes.
Entering your email address is optional but gives Apple a way to respond if they need more information or have information to share.
3.Put a one-line summary of the iCloud email problem in the Subject field.
4.Choose Feedback Type > Mail.

Same here - and I do know about making sure I'm searching the right mailbox or folder. I think sometimes it doesn't search Sent emails, so if I get an email from Jim and reply to it then want to search for Jim's original email and search From: Jim it doesn't find it, but when I scroll through the sent boxes there it is!
