Jan 5, 2023 · By 2023, UA has returned to the more traditional pre-COVID schedule update process. There are still some closer in changes but far less than during the COVID era. UA publishes a schedule for 330 days in advance (called Beginning of Schedule) and in the past would make tweaks quarterly and things would be fairly settles 3-4 months out.
United's same-day change policy contains several quirks that make it unique among the major U.S. legacy carriers, but it's worthwhile to learn them. While the fee is waived for United elite flyers, there are many instances where it's worth incurring $75 and adjusting your trip within 24 hours of departure.

Mar 19, 2022 · Click the "Manage trip" button to the right of the trip you'd like to change or cancel. Click the "Change flight or Cancel flight" button at the top of the screen. Follow the on-screen prompts. When you cancel a paid ticket, United will send you a voucher to use toward a future United purchase.

Mar 7, 2021 · Booked a UA flight with SQ miles last year, and the flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues. Called UA 3 times, and they just screwed things up further. Called SQ and they solved it. Had to call twice - the first time, I chose the "flight change" option in the phone menu, and they told me to call again and choose the "award booking" option.
