Aug 11, 2023 · Starting Tuesday, August 15, you can use your credit or debit cards to pay TTC fares, including cards on a smartphone or smartwatch, by tapping them onto PRESTO fare-card devices. Even though the TTC is the largest transit agency in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area, until Tuesday it’s also been the only agency where passengers couldn’t use personal cards to pay fares.
Ontario’s One Fare Program provides transit riders with free transfers when travelling between TTC and GO Transit, Brampton Transit, Durham Region Transit, MiWay and York Region Transit. Simply tap with a PRESTO card, credit or debit, or PRESTO in Google Wallet at every transfer point, and a discount will be automatically applied to your payment method.
