Sep 9, 2019 · The tModLoader folder has a Players and Worlds folder just like the main Terraria folder does. When you play with mods while tModloader is active, your characters and worlds are saved within the tModLoader folder. When you turn tModLoader off or uninstall it, your character and world files are saved in the main Terraria folder.
The mod browser lets you search for and download mods onto your computer without you personally touching the files folders. (The mods menu option is where you can disable or turn on certain mods.) You do not need to add files to tmodloader, but the reason those forums exist was before tmodloader was accessible on steam.
Aug 30, 2018 · From there, go back to the main menu, click on "Mods", click "Enable" on Calamity, click "Reload Mods" and you're ready to go! ^^ Just as a side-note, I recommend getting a recipe browser mod too, as Calamity has A LOT of really complicated crafting trees.
Check the backups folder, should be in the same folder as the world's. If not, check all the others in the :\My Games\Terarria\modloader\ folder. Copy the world and modloader files from the zip to your world's folder so you have a backup in case things go wrong, go from the most recent backwards in the case that the most recent fails as well.

yeah depending on what the mod is, you should shut down and re open the game and have a look at the message it gives, it might say that you are on a version of the game that isn't compatible with the mod, if it is then you should go to steam, right click tmod and hit properties, then go to betas and choose the one that the mod was made for.
