Feb 15, 2022 · Box 7 checked on your form 1099-MISC means that the payer has sold to you more than $5,000 of consumer products for resale. They are the seller and you are the buyer of these products for resale. If this is not the case, you should call and ask for a corrected form 1099-MISC.
You may either use box 2 on Form 1099-NEC or box 7 on Form 1099-MISC to report the direct sales totaling $5,000 or more. If you use Form 1099-NEC to report these sales, then you are required to file the Form 1099-NEC with the IRS by January 31. Report these sales on only one form.
