Dec 11, 2022 · I am not giving up just yet. The pc and tv are finding each other because they are all linked to a single network. So there must be a way to break this connection just for my PC. I have found a promising lead on my rauter but cant test it at the moment. Will write later with a follow-up. –

Then select the device you wish to mirror your desktop to. Whether you have a single monitor or a multi-monitor setup, you will be prompted before the casting process starts.

Jun 16, 2020 · What you can do is to purchase a DUMMY VGA/HDMI/USB C plug to fool Windows into thinking you hv a 2nd monitor/display connected. Then in Windows, EXTEND your display. Start Chrome, click Cast, Cast Desktop, Click Chromecast Device to Cast, Select Which Screen to Share (remember to enable share audio) That's all.
The Chromecast Ultra and the PC have to be on the same network inside of your home. To do that, both the computer and the Chromecast will have to be connected via ethernet to a router provided by your internet service provider or to a network switch that you purchase separately.
