- The Exclude feature allows you to remove unwanted records from the results set. Exclude functionality has been added to both the Analyze and Refine tools within Web of Science. Some care should be used to make sure that wanted items are not accidentally removed from the search results when using the Exclude functionality.

I'm trying to search by "documents", but this option is greyed out and I can only search by "authors". Can anyone help me understand why this is happening and how to fix it?
