Pets are used in battle as part of the player's team, and their turns are cycled through in combat. Players may have at most 2 pets in each battle. The pets can level up after winning a battle if they get enough stars or paying gold to level it up, which allows some of them to evolve if the player is a member and the pet has available evolution(s).
The evolution of a pet affects both its stats and appearance. Formerly, a player that is not a member can only have ten pets in their collection, but a member can have more than 100 simultaneously, and the stronger a player's pet(s) are, the stronger their opponents are in PvE battles. Now, non-members can catch up to 50 pets simultaneously and members can have up to 200 pets simultaneously. The level and strength of enemies are not affected in PvP. However, if a player does a Crystal Caverns run, they cannot switch their team or rescue new pets except for Shivertusk. In Crystal Caverns, the pet that is the team leader or at the top-left of your wizard when in battle will show like a buddy, following the player around.

Apr 21, 2023 · As mentioned above, our previous battle system was fairly simple: answer math questions in order to win your battles. Now, battles will require you to answer math questions to earn Magic Points that members of your team can use to cast spells. Your Magic Points are located underneath your wizard and your pets, indicated by the icon pictured below.
