There are multiple versions of chapters 2 and 3, depending on your actions right at the end of the first chapter. You can align yourself with either the elf Iorveth or the Temerian military leader, Vernon Roche. Your continued part of the story and even the available side quests in either case will differ dramatically. However, a number of quests here are shared with the quests from the Vernon Roche version of the chapter. You won’t find those linked in the far left navigation menu, but they’re included below and will be referenced throughout the text as appropriate.

You need to use aard on one before they activate quen, get them knocked down and use heavy attack, wait for the other mages quen to disappear while rolling around and keeping your distance, as soon as their quen drops move in and Aard them then attack.
In Witcher 2, Roche path, then Iorveth, then Witcher 3. For me, Iorveth's path is the way to go, if you've only time for one. One thing: about midway through the game, if you encounter something called "Malget's notes", translate them and see where things lead from a bygone era.
