The first step in learning how to mount a TV is choosing a wall mount. There are different types of TV wall mounts. Fixed TV wall mounts keep the television in a stationary position, flush against the wall. Swivel TV wall mounts allow the screen to pivot to the left and to the right to accommodate viewing from within a room.
Using the TV mount and a level, line up the holes with the studs and mark where they intersect, keeping the mount level while you work. These will be the location of your pilot holes. Drilling pilot holes allows the screws to go into the wood without cracking or damaging it, ensuring a smooth installation process.
