There are three. types of line. graphs. Simple line graphs: It is formed when you draw just one line to connect the data points. It is also known as a linear graph. Multiple line graph: It is formed when you plot more than one line on the same axes. Such a graph shows a change in similar variables over the same period.
Step 2: Draw and label the scale on x and y axes, i.e. the horizontal and vertical axes, respectively. Step 3: List each item and place the points (taking x-value as the x-coordinate and y-value as the y-coordinate) on the graph. Step 4: Finally, join the plotted points with line segments to get a line chart. Q3.

A line graph is a type of chart or graph that is used to show information that changes over time. A line graph can be plotted using several points connected by straight lines.
The line graph shown above represents the sale of bicycles by a bicycle company from the month of January till June. Here, the x-axis represents the time interval and the y-axis represents the number of bicycles sold each month. The dark point on the graph denotes a data point. A data point on a line graph represents the quantity or a number that m...
Line charts can display continuous data over time, set against a common scale, and are therefore ideal for showing trends in data at equal intervals or over time. As a general rule, use a line chart when your data includes non-numeric (category) data. For example, a shopkeeper wants to analyze the growth of his business over a period of one year. S...

Practice line graph questions. 1. The data shows the mass of bacteria on a petri dish recorded every hour for 6 6 hours. Draw a line graph to represent the data. 2. The data in the table below shows the average amount of rainfall in millimeters over 5 5 weeks in New York. Draw a line graph to represent this data. 3.

Steps of construction of line graph: On a graph, draw two lines perpendicular to each other intersecting at O. The horizontal line is x-axis and vertical line is y-axis. Mark points at equal intervals along x-axis and write the names of the data items whose values are to be marked. Along the y-axis, choose an appropriate scale considering the ...
