  4. Jul 17, 2024 · Slide the bottom of your first lift cord through the top of your first tassel. Slide it up 6–12 inches (15–30 cm) before tying a knot at the bottom of the cord. Let the tassel slide down to the bottom so that it catches on the knot. Repeat this process on the other side to finish restringing your blinds.

  6. Remove the bottomrail plug. Repeat step 3. Pull the knotted end of the cord that is under the bottomrail plug away from the bottomrail thus pulling the replacement cord through the ladder and through the bottomrail. Knot the end of the cord and tuck into the bottomrail along with the ladder ends. Replace bottomrail plug.
