Sep 11, 2023 · Powder snow is a trap block that can be found in snowy slopes and groves biomes. Similar to cobwebs, entities that walk or fall through powder snow don’t take fall damage, but move much slower. Rather than causing suffocation damage, the powder snow block causes freeze damage.

On the update when they brought snow/ice back to the taiga biome, we had to make a huge glass ceiling way up at the build height limit to protect a section of our town from having snow/ice issues. That worked great (at least at the time) to prevent ice forming.
Jun 13, 2012 · Based on gnovice's information, you can keep your Sugercane farm layout with a minor change. Replace every 3rd sugarcane block in the center row with a torch. This way, no block of water is more than two squares (three cubes) from the torch.
Ice can be easily destroyed without tools, but the use of a pickaxe speeds up the process. It can be broken instantly with Efficiency III on a diamond pickaxe. However, the block drops only when using a tool enchanted with Silk Touch .

Place them around your water sources strategically to have an increased temperature area, particularly in ice biomes.
