Fantastic Mr. Fox is based on a book by Roald Dahl, the guy who penned such children’s classics as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach. While his books are often magical, they can also be pretty dark and intense. (When he wasn’t writing children’s books, Dahl dabbled in horror screenplays.)
