  1. Nov 23, 2022 · Prayerless people cut themselves off from God’s overcoming power. God will rarely release His power in your life when you put your hands in your pockets and say, “I can handle it on my own.” The result is usually a completely avoidable feeling of being exhausted, hopeless, and always one step behind.

  2. 1 day ago · 1. Our Father Not Only Speaks But Listens. We start here with a summary of our focus in the Sunday school hour: our God is a speaking God. The preamble to Christian prayer is that God speaks. Prayer is responsive. Prayer is talking to God, but it’s not a conversation we start. God initiates.

    • Prayer is listening. We have to be quiet enough to hear God and give him the space to speak. Too often, we enter into prayer and just speak. We rattle off our prayer requests and hastily end with an ‘amen’.
    • Prayer is being receptive to God. One of the best ways to engage someone else in conversation is to ask questions. Ask about their life, their desires, their concerns.
    • Prayer is being willing to say “yes” to God. God has unlimited power and potential, but he needs our help. We need to first say “yes” and then God can release his power through us to accomplish his plans.
    • Prayer is habitually and regularly spending time with God. Prayer is most effective when practiced habitually and regularly. You don’t develop deep relationships with sporadic and infrequent conversations.
  3. Prayer releases God’s power. When God overrides His usual way of working ("the natural law") by some special expression of His will, we call it a miracle. To God it is just another of His works.

This reminds me of a prophetic dream in which I saw two angels, lounging against a wall. Their arms were folded and they were leaning against the wall in such a way that suggested they were bored, and had nothing to do! 1. The reason the angels were “unemployed” was that they were waiting for God to give them a command 2. And my Father was waiting ...

“This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name”(Matt 6:9, NIV) “Our Father!” “My Father!” Jesus teaches us to begin our prayer by addressing our Father. And where God’s Kingdom is at work, His power is being released.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”(Matt 19:26) And I believe that is His word to us today. See the switch. You are declaring God’s Kingdom, His rulership, over that circumstance.Over your life. Over that person. That ministry. That location.

I knew that you always hear me, but I sai...

  4. Jan 4, 2022 · According to the Bible, the power of prayer is, quite simply, the power of God, who hears and answers prayer. Consider the following: 1) The Lord God Almighty can do all things; there is nothing impossible for Him (Luke 1:37). 2) The Lord God Almighty invites His people to pray to Him.
