  2. This isn't really a difficult one in my opinion, having played more than just D&D, I'll say this: The rules are not the bible. If you can't see your target, you are at disadvantage to hit it in literal terms. Yes, if the target can't see you, you gain advantage, but it's absurd to use this to justify a straight roll into a fog cloud or darkness.
