May 26, 2021 · If any of you buy music from Presto (prestomusic.com), they've released their beta streaming library solution to prod together with a handphone app (apple and Android, nothing alas for any blackberry holdouts among you) as well.
The new official Presto app (for Android) has the ability to read the local data on the card (including all transactions that haven't yet synchronized back to the servers). I just confirmed this myself.
Presto has had such a crappy implementation, I just don't trust Metrolinx to hold on to my money or process auto-reload payments correctly. Using my phone to reload $10 any time I need to is super convenient and surprisingly works really well.
