Outside of a weapon's base damage this stat is by far the most important attribute your blade has. The difference is huge between two swords with a -1 and +4 speed when it comes to spamming a defensive force field of blades against multiple incoming enemies or just dealing out as much damage as quickly as you can.
The wiki has a page for all individuals crops with charts on how speed grow affects them so you dont have to do the math. Jan 17, 2021 · The formula works fine for normal and hyper speedgro though. - Growth time reduction by division : growth time would be calculated by dividing the normal time by 1+ [percentage of reduction] - if this rule is used, the berry would take 24/1.33 days with hyper speedgro, which is approximately 18, but wiki says 16 instead.

If there is no difference in growth time between 1 and 2, my original theory would be correct, and adding fertilizer after a season change would only affect any later crops planted.
So I worked out profit per day on growing Sweet Gem Berries in the Greenhouse using the different fertilizer types. In brief: The math(s) Deluxe Speed-Gro beats Quality Fertilizer (unless you're buying the former from Pierre's but crafting the latter)
